PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Position: Geological Engineer
Objective: carry out geological survey assignments – preparing survey tasks, technical plans and survey reports, and accepting survey results; preparing equipment and carrying out field investigations; controlling the quality and progress of field crews; and coordinating related work with other units in the Company.
DUTIES
Main responsibilities
· Field work:
– Prepare equipment and carry out field investigations;
– Help direct field crews and control their quality and progress;
· Office work:
– Prepare survey tasks and technical plans, and compile survey reports;
– Check and accept survey quantities and results;
– Issue documents as assigned.
· Other work:
– Research and apply new technologies in geological surveying;
– Other tasks as requested by the department head.
Other duties
– Coordinate related work with other units in the Company
– Report progress regularly to the department head
– Other tasks as requested by the department head.
EXPECTED RESULTS
– Assigned projects meet schedule and quality requirements;
– Survey deliverables comply with current codes and standards and with the Company’s internal rules;
– Proficient use of specialist software and geological survey equipment.
Requirements
Gender: Male
Education: University degree in geology
Knowledge: Good understanding of geological survey work
Experience: Candidates with project experience are preferred
Foreign language: Good spoken English
IT skills: Proficient in office software
Required skills
– Specialist software such as AutoCAD or equivalent;
– Good communication and teamwork skills;
– Willing to work on site;
Personal qualities: Honest, eager to progress and hard-working
Other requirements: Able to work under high pressure, independently or in a team.
Certificates: University degree in geology
