With complex stormy weather at the coastal Phu Cuong Wind Power Project, PSC’s Board of Management has given special attention to safety and to maintaining the survey schedule.

Four drilling rigs are currently deployed on site for geotechnical investigation and other survey work. These activities are directly affected by the weather, especially heavy rain, strong winds and the particular working conditions of a coastal area.

PSC’s Chairman and Board of Management meet regularly with the Phu Cuong site management team to review the weather, site conditions and progress, and to agree on the right work plan. The safety of people and equipment and risk control come first, while work plans are adjusted proactively to minimize the weather’s impact on the overall project schedule.

When heavy rain, strong winds or sea conditions make work unsafe, PSC suspends operations and does not send technicians into the field, to protect its workers.

While waiting for better sea conditions, PSC’s teams prepare personnel, equipment, technical methods and work plans so that several crews can be mobilized at once as soon as conditions allow. This lets PSC make the most of good weather windows and stay in control of the schedule instead of simply waiting.

PSC’s approach runs through every operation: proactive prevention – close site supervision – safety control – schedule assurance. Especially in adverse coastal weather, people’s safety always comes first, while resources are prepared in advance so the team can return to the field as soon as conditions allow.
